How It Works

For Entrants

This contest is FREE of charge and is open to everyone - amateur and professional - who has a camera (see Contest Categories in General Rules and Regulations). All images must be taken in Indonesia between 01 January and 30 November 2013.  There are six (6) underwater categories (including Junior) and one (1) People and Marine Conservation category.

• Plan your dive trip and simply decide where you would like to dive and take photo
• Contact the Participating Dive Operators (PDO) in that area (see the list in our website).
• Alternatively, contact your local dive operator/travel agent who has contact with PDOs in your chosen area.
• Dive with the PDO, and take photos accompanied by the Indonesian dive guide provided by your PDO.
• Complete the IWUPC 2013 Registration Form which will be provided by your PDO
• Make sure your PDO Verified your Registration Form (Stamp and/or Signature)
• You have two ways to submit your photo(s) :
  1. Images must be submitted along with a completed IWUPC 2013 Application Form. Please obtain the form from the Participating Dive Operator (PDO), then give the completed form and images file to your PDO. Your PDO will email or mail them to IWUPC Committee.
  2. Alternatively, you may ask your PDO to complete the “PDO Verification” section, then you can complete the application form and submit your images online at www.indonesiaunderwatercontest.com. To submit online you must include the “PDO Verification” (photographed or scanned). Without a certified copy of “PDO Verification” we cannot accept your application.(The latest date : Nov 30th,2013)
• Within one week of receiving your Registration Form and photo(s), the IWUPC Committee will contact you to confirm receipt.

• Note : Make sure you set your date and time of your camera to local date and time

 

For The PDO:

• Every PDO has the right to promote IWUPC for their own marketing purposes.
• The PDO must adhere to the PDO Rules and Regulations.
• In addition to taking the guests diving, PDOs must provide an Indonesian guide to accompany all guests while the guests are taking photos.
• Assist entrants to complete the Registration Form.
• Submit the photos and Registration Form to the IWUPC Committee.

For Dive Operators in Indonesia that have not yet registered as PDOs:

All legal dive operators/dive resorts/LOBs/dive clubs in Indonesia are invited to become an IWUPC 2013 PDO and to benefit from the associated international marketing.

• Simply look at the Rules and Regulations to become a PDO.
• Submit your application online (PDO Online Registration).
• The IWUPC Committee will contact you within 7 days to confirm acceptance as a PDO for IWUPC 2013.

Travel Agents, Photo Clubs, Professional Photographers

• National and International travel agents, photo clubs, and professional photographers are welcome to participate in the IWUPC 2013 by bringing or sending their guests to dive with registered PDOs.
• If the travel agent, photo club, or professional photographer has a preferred dive operator in Indonesia but finds they have not yet registered as a PDO for IWUPC 2013, please either ask the dive operator to register or contact the IWUPC Committee for assistance ().

 

 

Local Government, Institutions, Dive Operators, Private Sector

The IWUPC 2013 organisers welcome every institution and/or individual that will be holding a marine tourism related event (including but not limited to underwater photography) to submit details of their event to IWUPC 2013 (Event Online Registration).

• Each event will receive promotion in conjunction with IWUPC 2013.
• If events relate to Underwater Photography Competitions/Contests/Workshops, and the organizers agree to follow the Rules and Regulations of IWUPC 2013, photographs taken during these events may be entered into IWUPC 2013.
